Plenty of games try to be the best, but it takes a true visionary to shoot for being the worst. One such trailblazer is heading for the PlayStation Portable. Joystiq reports that the iPhone game Crap of Defense is being rebranded as Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder for Sony’s handheld.

Crap of Defense calls itself the “worst game ever,” but that doesn’t seem backed up by the user reviews. While it shares a roughly similar number of five-star and one-star ratings on iTunes (99 and 81, respectively), most users rated it at three-stars. A look at the comments seems to indicate players find the goofy soundtrack and art style hide a fun, addictive strategy game. Darn.

In case you’re curious, the current reigning champion of the coveted “Worst PSP Game” title is Dragonball Evolution, according to Metacritic aggregate scores. The game based on a movie based on a cartoon based on a fever dream resulted in a shocking score of 28. We doubt that Paper Wars can outdo it, but we’d love to see the attempt.
